Search Lee County VINELink Records

A Lee County VINELink inmate search can check one person’s covered custody status and register for release or custody-change notices. Kentucky VINE receives information from participating local jails and adult corrections, making it useful after a name leaves the current Lee County jail roster or when a state prisoner’s status changes. To check a Lee County inmate on VINELink, match the correct record, review each custody system separately, and confirm any alert with the agency that owns the event. VINELink is a notification service, not a court record or federal locator.

Lee VINELink Release Fields

Fields vary by contributing agency and record. Describe only what the selected record actually returns. Do not import KOOL sentence dates into VINE or assume each local and state entry contains identical information.

VINELink itemCareful interpretation
Name and identifierHelps match the person and custody record
Custody statusThe participating source’s current status text
Facility or locationThe reporting jail or institution when supplied
Facility contactAddress or phone for direct confirmation
Release dateThe date returned for an out-of-custody response
Notification eventsCovered changes selected during registration

A VINE release date should not be converted into dismissal, acquittal, final sentence discharge, or unrestricted community status. The person might be transferred, subject to parole, or held elsewhere. For Three Forks, call 606-464-2598. For a KDOC record, compare KOOL and the dated Daily Releases archive.

Register Lee County Release Alerts

Registration follows the correct offender record. Kentucky allows VINELink web registration or telephone registration at 800-511-1670. Phone registration accepts two phone numbers and uses a chosen four-digit PIN. Entering that PIN during an automated call acknowledges the message and stops repeated calls.

  1. Open the matching record and choose “Notify Me of Status Changes.”
  2. Select phone or email and follow the prompts. More than one destination may be registered.
  3. For telephone notices, create a four-digit PIN and keep it available.
  4. When a call arrives, listen to the full event wording and enter the PIN to acknowledge receipt.
  5. Register separately on both local and KDOC records when both belong to the same person.
  6. Keep the jail, KDOC, and court contacts ready for independent confirmation.

For jail releases, Kentucky guidance says calls repeat every 30 minutes for up to 24 hours or until acknowledgment. For state-institution release, the Attorney General describes advance notice of 72 hours when possible. Court-ordered discharge, immediate time credit, escape, and similar changes may generate an event-time alert instead.

The official VINELink registration workflow is visible in the captured Kentucky VINE material below.

The workflow supports notification by selected channel, but an alert remains a cue to contact the agency.

Confirm Lee VINELink Alerts

VINELink depends on data supplied by covered institutions. It is not the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator or the ICE detainee locator. It also does not replace the Lee Circuit Court Clerk when the question concerns a signed release, bond, dismissal, probation, or other court order.

For a Three Forks alert, call the jail and ask whether the person left the facility and whether the event was community release or transfer. Request the booking/release sheet when exact documentary proof is needed. For Lee Adjustment Center or another state record, use KOOL, the KDOC Daily Releases archive, and KDOC records. A probation-and-parole location may indicate supervised community status rather than final discharge.

Important: Preserve the alert’s exact event term and verify it with the jail, KDOC, or court before drawing a conclusion.

If VINELink returns nothing, search alternate spellings and identifiers, then move to the owning agency. Historical local records may require an open-records request. Older or fully discharged KDOC records may require Offender Information Services at P.O. Box 2400, Frankfort, KY 40602-2400.

Two Lee VINELink Records

Kentucky’s own VINE guidance makes duplicate records a central Lee County issue. The same person can have a local-jail entry and a separate Department of Corrections entry. This can happen during a transition from Three Forks to KDOC control. Registering on only one entry may leave the other custody layer unmonitored.

Open both records and compare their identifiers, location, and status. Register on each matching entry. If the local record reports release but the state record shows an institution, the evidence supports departure from local custody followed by state custody, not freedom from all confinement. If the state record shows community supervision, confirm the actual release through KDOC’s dated report and current supervision status.

The KDOC VINE information page also documents a February 3 vendor incident that produced false release alerts. That official warning makes an independent call essential after every notice. A false alert, data lag, or duplicate record can otherwise produce a wrong account of the event.

Note: Kentucky VINE is a strong notification bridge, but the event-owning record remains the best proof.

Read Lee VINE Events Literally

Kentucky publishes definitions for advanced release and court-ordered discharge events. An advanced notice concerns an approaching event, not proof that the person has left. Immediate time credit, escape, and court discharge may create notices near the event. Keep the exact wording and timing.

“Released” describes departure from the reporting custodian. It does not show where the person went, whether supervision began, or whether another agency took custody. “Transfer” means movement between custodians. For a local notice, compare the alert with the Three Forks release sheet and Lee court order. For a state notice, compare it with KOOL, KDOC Daily Releases, and supervision status.

VINE does not calculate a sentence. Projected release, minimum expiration, parole eligibility, and maximum expiration are separate KDOC date labels. None should be substituted for the actual event reported by the owning institution. When a notice and a projected date differ, confirm current status and the dated release record instead of trying to reconcile the sentence calculation independently.

Save the alert time, reporting system, and exact event label for later comparison and agency confirmation.
