Where Lee Adjustment Releases Go
Lee Adjustment Center is a medium-security state correctional institution for adult men. A departure from the prison is governed by the state sentence and KDOC record, not by Three Forks Regional Jail. A person may leave on discretionary parole, mandatory reentry supervision, sentence expiration, a court order, or a transfer. Each term has a different legal effect.
Parole is conditional community release authorized through the Kentucky Parole Board. Mandatory reentry supervision is also community supervision, but it follows the statutory sentence framework rather than a discretionary parole grant. Minimum-expiration discharge can end custody at a calculated point. Transfer merely changes the place or agency holding the person. Final discharge from parole is a later legal status and should not be confused with the day someone walked out of the institution.

Confirm a Lee Adjustment Release
Start with the Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, commonly called KOOL. Search by name, DOC number, or PID number. Compare the identity, aliases, convictions, and location before treating a result as a match. Read each date label literally. Expected Time To Serve, Minimum Expiration, Parole Eligibility, and Maximum Expiration describe different points on a sentence timeline.
- Open KOOL and identify the correct offender record.
- Read current location and supervision status, not only the projected date.
- Check the KDOC Daily Releases archive for the event date and releasing institution.
- Use Kentucky VINE for custody status and alerts, then confirm any alert independently.
- Request the KDOC release or discharge record if the public fields do not resolve the question.
The Daily Releases PDFs can show DOC number, name, type of release, released-from facility, and highest felony class. They are unusually strong evidence of an actual state-system event. They do not list every local release from Three Forks. The Lee County release search separates those local, state, and federal paths.

Call the institution for current facility routing. For former-offender information absent from KOOL, send a focused request to KDOC Offender Information Services. Identify the person by name and DOC or PID number when possible. Ask for the existing release or discharge record, sentence-date computation record where relevant, parole or final-discharge documentation, and official offender photograph.

Under 501 KAR 6:350, ordinary paper copies are generally ten cents per page unless actual cost is higher, plus postage. Nonstandard production may involve advance preparation costs. Request existing records. KDOC need not create a new calculation or answer a hypothetical date question. Records may also be limited by exemptions and confidentiality rules.

The official KDOC facility page identifies Lee Adjustment Center as a medium-security institution for adult men with 866 beds. CoreCivic owns and operates it under contract with KDOC. KDOC identifies Danny Dodd as warden. The prison is in Beattyville, but its population belongs to the statewide corrections system.

KDOC resumed use under the agreement developed in 2017 and 2018. That history is part of why the operator and the legal custodian must be distinguished when seeking release records.
Lee County’s Split Release Systems
Lee County contains two nearby but legally separate custody systems. Three Forks grew from a Lee, Owsley, and Wolfe regional-jail authority. Lee Adjustment Center is a CoreCivic-operated prison used by KDOC. Their online tools are not interchangeable.
A person leaving Three Forks after bond may never appear as a KDOC prisoner. A person leaving Lee Adjustment Center will not be documented through the Three Forks current roster. If a local detainee transfers into KDOC, the event is a custodial transfer. KOOL may then show the state location, while the jail release sheet should preserve the destination recorded at departure. Always keep both documents when the boundary matters.
Lee Adjustment Date Labels
KOOL offers a Projected Release Date range in advanced search and may display several sentence dates on a detail record. None should be collapsed into a generic promise. Minimum Expiration can reflect good-time treatment. Parole Eligibility marks possible consideration, not approval. Maximum Expiration is another endpoint. A future date can change because of credit calculations, loss of credit, court orders, parole action, or a detainer.
KRS 197.045 governs sentence credits. Kentucky’s violent-offender rules and mandatory-reentry provisions can also change the framework, with offense-date limits and exclusions. Current statutes took effect July 15, 2026, so older cases may be controlled by prior text or offense-date language. Do not perform a personal release calculation from one public field. Ask KDOC for the sentence-date computation record or obtain the relevant court record.
Lee Adjustment Supervision Checks
When KOOL shows a probation-and-parole district as the current location, the person may be in the community under supervision rather than inside a prison. Check Supervision Status and County of Supervision. An absconded marking signals a compliance or warrant issue. It does not mean the sentence is discharged. Active supervision likewise does not mean the person remains in a cell.
Lee County falls within KDOC Reentry Region 6. The published contacts include District 8 reentry coordinator Gregory Purvis at 859-274-3067 and Lee Adjustment Center coordinator Kristy Hounshell at 606-464-2866. These are program-navigation contacts, not substitutes for the assigned supervising officer or an official release record. The Kentucky Parole Board makes parole decisions, while KDOC’s Division of Probation and Parole administers community supervision.
Final discharge has a specific meaning. Under KRS 439.354 and 439.356, a qualifying person may receive a final-discharge order or certificate after compliant supervision. That later status prevents another hold for violation of that parole. It is distinct from release onto parole, which begins a period of conditions and oversight.

Kentucky VINE covers adult corrections as well as participating local jail systems. Register through VINELink or by phone at 800-511-1670. State-institution release notice may arrive in advance when possible. Immediate court discharge, time-credit changes, escape, and similar events may generate notice at the event instead.
One person can have separate local and DOC VINE records. Register on both when the history spans Three Forks and KDOC. Kentucky’s official VINE information also reports a vendor incident that produced false release alerts. Confirm every notice with KOOL, the Daily Releases archive, KDOC, or the signed court record. An alert is useful notice, but it is not a certified discharge document.
